How to: Automate Office Applications Other Than Word, Excel, or Outlook

Full Name:
How to: Automate Office Applications Other Than Word, Excel, or Outlook

Short Name:
How to: Automate Office Applications Other Than Word, Excel, or Outlook

Type of Entity:
C#

Abstract:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System does not provide projects that target Office applications other than Microsoft Office Word 2003, Microsoft Office Excel 2003, and Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. If you want to use managed code to automate other Office applications, such as Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, you can still use Visual Studio as your development environment. You must, however, perform additional steps in your existing projects to be able to call unmanaged code using Visual Basic or C#. For more information, see Managed Code and Office Programming with Visual Studio.
